Salim is the Clinical Account Operations Director at UPMC Procirca Artificial Heart Program. In addition to his role at UPMC, he co-founded and is VP of Clinical Affairs at Miniscule, a medical device company that is in the process of commercializing an innovative pediatric heart.

Throughout his career, Salim has worked at the intersection of clinical care, engineering design, and product innovation. Operating at this intersection has given him the unique opportunity to build relationships, solve complex problems, and ultimately improve patient care.

His over 15 years of experience in clinical product development and education for two large health systems along with founding and running a medical device company has given him an insider’s perspective on the challenges faced when developing and deploying technologies within the healthcare ecosystem. Salim’s career has taken him around the world to present his research and provide clinical education on medical products and improving procedures.
